Participating in a Self-Assessment and receiving feedback from an Examiner team is the start of any organization’s improvement journey using the Baldrige Framework for Improvement. At the SPQA this program is called “DISCOVERY”. This year, the Educational Employee’s Supplementary Retirement System of Fairfax County (ERFC) submitted their Discovery Self-Assessment. They clearly have recognized the benefit of completing this self-assessment.
“As a small benefit pension program providing retirement services to the employees of Fairfax County Public Schools, we are excited about providing even better services to our members through the Baldrige Excellence Framework. Completing this self-assessment has already provided opportunities for continual improvement, and we are excited about working with the U.S. Senate Productivity and Quality Award to pursue performance excellence.” – Eliazer Martinez, Executive Director and Chief Investment Officer.
Feedback from the SPQA Examiners indicated that ERFC is on the pathway to meeting their organizational Mission to “enhance the financial security of their members through prudent financial stewardship of a defined benefit plan while providing outstanding retirement services and education.”
Additional information about ERFC can be found on their website.
