José Perez Martínez

At SPQA, our support in helping organizations on their journey to excellence leverages the talents and experiences of our volunteer workforce. Each volunteer workforce member has a unique story to tell. In this article we have interviewed José Perez Martínez.

What interested you in becoming an Examiner with SPQA?

Wanting to learn about organizations choosing to pursue excellence, the challenges they face, and how their leadership guides them on the journey.

What have you enjoyed the most about being an examiner?

Carrying out Independent Reviews, learning about the organizations and increasing each time my understanding of the Baldrige Criteria.

What skills have you gained since becoming a volunteer with SPQA?

Learned to keep my experience and knowledge of Quality and Business in the background, focus on the Criteria. Have also become a better listener.

What do you most want to learn from this experience?

How aspects of the Criteria that I consider unique in Quality (resilience, agility, intelligent risks, innovation, systematic learning, systematic identification of indicators and tracking of results) combine to drive organizational excellence and sustainability in today’s and tomorrow’s economic and business environments.

Outside of volunteering with SPQA, what is the hobby you’re most passionate about?

Recreational jogging and resistance training.
