Steve Bonk has over 40 years’ experience in IT program management and engineering. BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from Penn State (High Honors) and the University of Massachusetts Lowell, an MBA from Virginia Tech, and a Post Masters Graduate Certificate in IT and Telecommunications from Johns Hopkins. Project Management Professional (PMP), Risk Management Professional (RMP), Stanford Certified Project Manager (SCPM), Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.), Certified Scrum Master (SCM), and is ITIL (V3) Foundation certified. He has been employed by IBM, SAIC, BAE and not for profit research institutions MITRE & Mitretek (now Noblis) and the Illinois Institute of Technology Research Institute (IITRI now Alion).
Member, Project Management Institute (PMI). Contributed to the: Project Management Body Of Knowledge (PMBOK); the Organizational Project Management Maturity Model (OPM3); the Standard for Program Management; the Standard for Portfolio Management; the Practice Standard for Project Estimation; and the Practice Standard for Project Scheduling.
Life senior member, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Region 2 (East US) Educational Activities Chair; Region 2 Awards and Recognition Committee member; 2005/2006 Congressional Fellow (AAAS/IEEE program); member, and 15/16 chair of the Government Fellows Committee, and member of the Government Relations Council (term limited); member, and past Chair of the Committee on Transportation and Aerospace Policy.
