Dr. Christopher Green has been the Director of Quality and Safety at Eastern State Hospital in Williamsburg, Virginia since 2019. Chris is responsible for the management and oversight of hospital quality improvement, hospital safety, risk management, and health information management in collaboration with the administrative and clinical leaders of the hospital.
Colleagues know Dr. Green to be trustworthy in the communities he serves, committed to high standards of patient care, attentive to achieve positive outcomes. Additionally, he is published author on Leadership, Psychiatric Patient Aggression, and Long –Term Care. Major strengths include Workforce Engagement, Safety Programs, Financial Performance, and Strategic Planning. Additionally, He has been a Project Team Leader for The SPQA Award at Eastern State Hospital for the past four years, with the hospital winning the award twice. Currently, he is in the process of publishing a book about how to respond appropriately to employee concerns in the workplace.
Prior to joining Eastern State Hospital, Dr. Green served as a Healthcare Administrator in multiple states including Florida, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Illinois. He is a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and served as a Crash and Rescue Firefighter on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier.
Dr. Green holds a Ph.D. in Health Science from Rush University in Chicago, Illinois, an M.S. in Health Science from the University of North Florida, and B.S in Business Administration from The Ohio State University. Additionally, he is Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) and is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in Virginia. He has recently been appointed as a board member of the Citizen Advisory Board with Williamsburg James City County School District with a focus on Career Readiness Programs.
