Marcia Harrington has held executive level positions in higher education and brings a wealth of experience in policy, strategic planning, organizational improvement, program development, accreditation, and academic affairs through positions at universities and colleges in Virginia, as well as the state system office of Virginia’s community colleges. She is a former adjunct faculty in the Graduate School of Education at Virginia Tech and has consulted for organizations in a variety of sectors including biofuels, health care, local government, economic development, and higher education. Dr. Harrington has served in elected leadership positions in national and regional professional associations, served as a grants reviewer for the U.S. Commerce Department, commissioned to write manuals on Strategic Planning in Technology and Education for the NSF, and has served on accreditation review teams for colleges and universities in the southeast. She has served on the Baldrige National Quality Award Board of Examiners since 2015, the SPQA Board of Examiners, and was elected to the Board of the Alliance for Performance Excellence in 2019. Dr. Harrington earned her PhD and her MBA at Virginia Tech.
