Marcia Harrington, PhD, has held executive level positions in higher education and her own consulting business, and brings a wealth of experience in policy analysis and development, strategic planning, marketing and branding, systemic organizational assessment and improvement, program development, accreditation, and building community and stakeholder relationships, through positions at universities and colleges in Virginia, as well as the state system office of Virginia’s community colleges and consulting with NSF, Commerce Dept, St. John’s Univ., Montgomery College, Virginia Tech, Montgomery Regional Hospital, Town of Blacksburg, Roanoke County, Prince Edward County, and more. She is a former adjunct faculty in the Graduate School of Education at Virginia Tech and has consulted for organizations in a variety of sectors including biofuels, health care, local government, economic development, and higher education. Dr. Harrington has served in elected leadership positions in national and regional professional associations, served as a grants reviewer for the U.S. Commerce Department, commissioned to write manuals on Strategic Planning in Technology and Education for the NSF, and has served on accreditation review teams for colleges and universities in the southeast. She has earned numerous awards for her work. She has served on the Baldrige National Quality Award Board of Examiners since 2015, the SPQA Board of Examiners, and was elected to the Board of the Alliance for Performance Excellence in 2019. Dr. Harrington earned her PhD and her MBA at Virginia Tech.
