Ron Henson, DBA

Ronald Henson (Ron), DBA, LSSBB, Deputy Assistant Inspector General for Inspections and Evaluations Office of the Inspector General, joined the D.C. Office of the Inspector General in November 2016. Prior to that, Ron was a U.S. Army Officer (Lieutenant Colonel), serving in the Military District of Washington until retirement.

Ron served over 26 years as both an officer and enlisted member in various leadership, organizational management, program management, and operations management positions. During the latter part of his military career, he served as the Division Chief for Inspections and Analysis at the Office of the Inspector General, National Guard Bureau. In that capacity, he conducted organizational compliance assessments at various headquarters elements of the U.S. Army and U.S. Air, National Guard Bureaus.

Most recently, Ron serves as a board member for the U.S. Senate Productivity and Quality Award Program. This non-profit helps to assist organizations in Virginia and Washington, D.C., achieve better results in performance excellence, from large healthcare organizations to small businesses.

Ron earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Alabama State University. He also earned a Master of Science in Quality Systems Management from The National Graduate School of Quality Management, and completed his Doctorate of Business Administration, also from The National Graduate School of Quality Management. Ron is also a credentialed Lean Six Sigma-Black Belt.

Ron was raised in Northwest Florida (Pensacola), and has lived in multiple states and territories along with his wife (Rosemary) Commander, U.S. Navy, of fifteen years. Together they have a son (Drew), and daughter (Taylor). In his spare time, Ron enjoys playing golf, listening to jazz music, bike riding, and reading.
