Judith M. Crabtree, BFA
Executive Director, Kanawha Coalition for Community Health Improvement
Judy has over 30 years of experience in organizational leadership, with expertise in volunteer management and strategic planning. She is often called upon to lead quality improvement and strategic planning processes for fellow nonprofit agencies. She currently serves on the Boards, Steering Committees, and Advisory Panels for several organizations working to improve the health and wellbeing of the people of Kanawha County.
Judy has been Executive Director for the Kanawha Coalition for Community Health Improvement since 2002. She leads the County’s triennial Community Needs Assessment process, convenes local stakeholders and assists in the development and implementation of a County Community Health Improvement Plan that addresses identified priorities.
As is a believer in continuous quality improvement, Judy actively seeks opportunities to engage herself and her community in learning opportunities. These have included serving as a field-test group for the National Quality Forum’s Community Action Guide and as part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Community Health Improvement Navigator Learning Collaborative.
Her community’s most recent adventure has been embarking on their Communities of Excellence journey. In her role as Coalition Executive Director she provides support and guidance to Kanawha County’s leadership group as together they strive to better understand and apply the Baldrige-based principles of community performance excellence.
