April Schmidt

April Schmidt is zealous about helping organizations perform at their highest potential. Her career began in healthcare as a Medical Social Worker with an expertise in geriatrics, having work experience in: Skilled Nursing Facility, Homecare, Hospice & Palliative Care, Health Insurance and Aging Continuum. April learned about the value and importance of working as an interdisciplinary team member and the significance of clear, concise communication to achieve the goal of patient care that was safe and reflective of patients wishes.

As April’s career matured, she developed a passion for and was inspired to facilitate change at the organizational level. She began using Lean and Six Sigma principles to support change management and process improvement initiatives that engaged employees, created inspiring workplaces, and obtained data to drive decision making. April was able to apply skills she learned as a direct practice social worker in her roles as a leader and project facilitator to build high performing teams.

April is strategic, insightful and futuristic in her thinking with the ability to transform a big picture vision into detailed action plans that guide strategy and organizational performance. April has the experience and skills to help with strategic planning, initiative implementation and evaluation, organizational assessments and actions plans, with the ability to support leadership development including coaching.

April holds a Bachelor of Science in Social Work, Masters Social Work and Masters in Management & Organizational Behavior. She holds a number of quality certifications including ASQ Certified Sigma Black Belt, NAHQ Certified Professional Healthcare Quality.
