Award Recipients

Organizations in Virginia and the District of Columbia which receive the United States Senate Productivity and Quality Award Medallion are believed to be the best in their class when compared to the nation’s standard for excellence – the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence.  This exemplary performance works to enhance the regional environment for all.  While organizations apply for the Medallion, a Plaque or Certificate recognizes significant accomplishment and an organizational culture headed toward exemplary performance.

Plaque for Performance Excellence

National Cemetery Administration (NCA) is part of the Department of Veteran’s Affairs.  Its mission is to honor Veterans and their families with final resting places in national shrines and with lasting tributes that commemorate their service and sacrifice to our Nation. Its vision is to be the model of excellence for burial and memorials for our Nation’s Veterans and their families.  Among other purposes, NCA maintains its cemeteries as national shrines, sacred to the honor and memory of those interred or memorialized there.
